That’s right folks, with the price of crude oil spiking higher than ever before, the prices for natural gas are falling. For those that own a CNG car, this news is fantastics. For those that don’t own a CNG car, it makes the case for buying one that much more tempting. Today, natural gas prices fell 80 billion cubic feet to 2.433 trillion cubic feet last week.
This equated to a fall in prices of about 3 cents, and has fallen 27 percent this year alone from last year’s prices. Crude oil on the other hand reached $107 a barrel today and the tensions around IRAN and the U.S.A. are continuing to hit the rumor mill.

What has helped natural gas prices to lower? The biggest reason is that production is booming because more companies are getting smarter and using natural gas as a resource. In fact, there is an over abundance of natural gas in our nations reserves, so the price is being lowered to help to sell it off to bring it to more normal levels. Sounds crazy right?! If only we had this problem with crude oil.
The national average today for a gallon of gas is at $3.75 per gallon, and is about 28 cents more than it was merely a month ago. With no stopping in site, its safe to say that this summer, most of us will run out of money in our wallets and get stalled on the middle of the freeway so to speak.
Most of us are still recovering from the high gas prices that plagued the nation back in 2008. Since that time, oil companies have continued to gain strength and paying over $2.60 for a gallon of gas is normal. The sad thing is that oil companies have made record profits within the last 2 years, and high gas prices are not helping a nation dwindling in optimism and desperate for jobs. Chevy, Ford, and Chrysler used to make CNG cars, but do not anymore and have not since 2004. The biggest problem people run into when looking for a CNG car is that there usually is not a commercial CNG station near their home for them to fill up. Companies have solved this issue by creating pumps that can fit in your garage to use the natural gas of your home. Can you imagine never having to go to a gas station again? This dream i a reality, its just that not enough people have jumped on the wagon so to speak. The main way that CNG cars will become main stream is if we get more cng stations built around the nation. Once these stations are mainstream, CNG cars will follow.

This is very convenient because if there is not a CNG fill station near all you have to do is fill up your bi fuel car at a regular gas station which allows you to still be able to drive your vehicle. Most bi fuel vehicles allow you to switch the fuel by the flip of the switch and it switches the gasoline so efficiently that you can even be driving when you do this and you won’t even feel it switch over.
